Two New Julips

I went to the Utterly Horses Hullabaloo last week and whilst I was there, I purchased a few spares.  They were unfinished, and Hazel very kindly finished them off for me, adding eyes and hooves and stuff :-)

We used to have a really lovely little 32inch donkey called Fred. He was rose grey and had the sweetest temperament. A few years ago, he died very suddenly of unknown causes - the compulsory Donkey Sanctuary autopsy suggested peritonitis, but they weren't certain.

For a while, I've been meaning to get a portrait of him, as I have his best friend, Jack, as a Julip. So when I saw a gorgeous Julip spare at the show who looked exactly like him, I had to get him! It's lovely that they're together in Julip form now too.

Here's my other spare from the Live - he's a rather handsome roany pony who I haired myself.  His hair is grey - the colour was Annabel's suggestion.
I only had one Arab Stallion, which is surprising considering it's one of my favourite moulds!  I can't think of much to say so I'll let you have a look at a photo.

Welcome!

I am the Abstract Elephant; amateur photographer and writer, Julip collector, horse rider, musician and singer, amongst other hobbies!  I used to have a blog called TheBlackCatKnowsAll, but this one is for starting afresh and hopefully it will be a little more interesting to read (I hope).

To start with, since I have nothing else to say, is a selection of recent Julip photos.

Ollie, Bramble and Checkers observe the action on the yard.
